History

Father and son

Hathaway-Myers Chapel in Columbus opened our doors in 1894, then known as the Davidson-Henderson Funeral Home. Walter Hathaway bought the business in 1907, and the name was changed to Hathaway & Son Funeral Home. When son, Paul Hathaway, joined his father in 1912, the funeral home relocated to 544 Washington Street.

The next generation

John K. Hathaway became associated with the firm in 1925, which was 2 years after the death of his grandfather, Walter. In July 1948, the firm moved to its current location at 1022 Pearl Street. On October 1, 1964, Richard W. Morrison bought the firm, and it was known as the Hathaway-Morrison Funeral Home.

A new partnership

Hathaway-Myers ChapelLater in 1971, Steven "Pat" Myers became associated with the firm as a licensed funeral director, and on January 1, 1972, he purchased the business and the name was changed to Hathaway-Myers Funeral Chapel. The funeral home is now a member of the Dignity Memorial® network, offering you exceptional services with the dedication you expect from a local Columbus establishment.
